Account deletion
Delete your account and connected garden data.
Use the email address attached to the account so ownership and shared-garden responsibilities can be verified before records or private media are removed.
Before deletion
A careful process protects you and the people who share care.
- Export anything you want to keep.Create a current garden export before requesting deletion.
- Cancel renewal separately. If you have The Botanist, cancel future renewal in Google Play using the purchasing Google account. Account deletion does not automatically cancel a Play subscription.
- Send the request from the account email.Include only the email address and a clear deletion request. Never send a password, verification code, invitation code, garden export, or payment details.
- Complete ownership checks.Shared gardens may require an owner transfer or confirmation that another owner remains before deletion can proceed.
- Receive completion confirmation.A completion message is sent after the approved account scope, private media, and recoverable copies have been processed.
What the request covers
Account deletion is different from leaving a garden or deleting a backup.
The verified request covers your Lorekeeper account and the connected personal data approved during review. Records belonging to a shared household may need to remain with another authorized owner. Legally required transaction or security records may be retained only for the period required by law or fraud prevention.
If you only want to remove a Web Companion backup, use More → Data and backups while signed in. If you only want to stop Botanist renewal, use Google Play. Neither action by itself deletes the plant history in your account.
