Know what syncs—and what deletion removes.

Export and deletion remain available whenever you need them. Signed-in household records synchronize between Android and the Web Companion; device files, web backups, and account deletion remain clearly separated.

Android and Web Companion

One household record, with clear boundaries.

Use the same account and household on both devices. Core plant, location, care, journal-text, and health records use the shared bridge. The table calls out media and advanced propagation records that still keep a platform-specific beta copy.

Backups are not live copies. An exported file is a recovery snapshot. It changes only when you create or restore one.

Export

In the Web Companion, open More, then Data and backups, and download a versioned garden backup. Keep exports private because they may include personal notes and household records.

Restore

The Web Companion validates the backup version, record IDs, and relationships before replacing its working copy. Keep a second copy until you have checked plants, schedules, journal entries, propagation, lineage, and photos.

Membership cancellation and account deletion

Changing or deleting a Lorekeeper's Leaf account does not automatically cancel a Google Play membership. If you have The Botanist, cancel future renewal through Google Play with the same Google account used to purchase it, then use the account-deletion path below if you also want your service records removed. Cancelling a future renewal never erases the plants, photographs, journal, or lineage already in your account.

Delete only Web Companion backups

Signed-in Web Companion users can open More, choose Data and backups, and remove the browser recovery document and its backups while revoking access to the associated private web media. This does not delete the signed-in household records used by Android and the Web Companion.

Delete the account and connected data

Send a deletion request from the email address used for the account. We verify identity, shared-household ownership, the records to transfer or remove, private media, and legally required membership receipts before any deletion begins. Do not include passwords, garden secrets, invitation codes, or payment details.

Account deletion: the verified request path is live. We verify account ownership and deletion scope before processing it. This is separate from deleting only a Web Companion copy and separate from cancelling a Google Play renewal. A completion message is sent after the approved account scope and recoverable copies have been processed.
